Veteran Label Exec Jeff Burroughs Joins Jonny Shipes’ GoodTalk as President

Jeff Burroughs has joined Jonny Shipes’ GoodTalk as president, where he will help expand its music, content and branding partnerships and support artist development. The appointment brings an experienced label and marketing executive to Shipes’ effort to build GoodTalk as a company spanning music and brands.

Shipes founded Cinematic Music Group in 2007, helping launch artists including Joey Bada$$, Nipsey Hussle and Big K.R.I.T.; he sold its catalogue to Interscope in 2023 before launching GoodTalk. Burroughs has held senior roles at Def Jam, Syco, RCA and Bad Boy, and spent the past five years running THTWRKS, which worked on artist partnerships for brands including Nike, Disney and Meta.
