Citibank shooter’s motive revealed after he killed female victim execution-style as she tried to crawl away
Jacob Pearson opened fire at a Citibank campus in Tampa, killing employee LeAnne Selman and injuring four others, after becoming angry about a court case over an unpaid debt. Police said the shooting was stopped by a Citibank vice-president and security officer, whose actions prevented further harm.
Investigators said Pearson had threatened the company earlier that morning in a letter referring to an AR-15 and body armour. He drove to the campus with 90 rounds of ammunition; 15 were used. Police said he shot Selman three times with a rifle, then returned to his car for a handgun and shot her again as she tried to crawl away. The debt was reported as $2,556.80, and the four injured people were stable and had been released.
