Jaguars’ Brian Thomas Jr. decision will change everything about the NFL trade deadline
The Jaguars are reportedly considering whether to trade receiver Brian Thomas Jr. before the 10 November NFL deadline, despite having previously resisted interest from other teams. His reduced role, alongside Jacksonville’s need for defensive help after DaVon Hamilton’s season-ending injury, has fuelled speculation about a deal.
Thomas, 24, played 19 snaps without a catch in Thursday’s 33-10 win over Baltimore and has 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns in eight games. The Chiefs, Steelers and 49ers are seeking receivers, with Kansas City reportedly particularly interested; its leading receiver, tight end Travis Kelce, has 410 yards. Thomas had 1,282 yards in his Pro Bowl rookie season, then 707 last year, as new arrival Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington have gained prominence. Jacksonville is 6-2 and next faces Tennessee on 15 November.
