Netflix Officially Confirms a Release Date for Its ‘Arcane’ Replacement

Netflix has confirmed that *Blue Eye Samurai* Season 2 will premiere on 19 January, bringing back the acclaimed adult animated series after a multi-year wait. The return matters to viewers seeking a new, story-driven series in the wake of *Arcane*, and continues Netflix’s investment in ambitious adult animation.

The six-episode season follows Mizu as she travels to 17th-century London in pursuit of revenge and answers about her heritage, where she faces a society described by the creators as dark and puritanical. Back in Edo, Ringo, Akemi, Taigen and Master Eiji deal with the aftermath of the city’s destruction; Jonathan Pryce, Joel Kim Booster and Sherry Cola join the voice cast.
