“They will blow your mind”: the band Noel Gallagher called “modern-day geniuses”
Noel Gallagher said the electronic duo Amorphous Androgynous were “modern-day geniuses” after hearing their 2008 compilation, *A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding in Your Mind: Volume 1*. The record impressed him enough to seek out the musicians and ask to work with them.
Gallagher told *The Quietus* in 2011 that the album’s unusual title made him expect either “the greatest thing ever or the worst thing ever”. He was struck by its opening track, Donovan’s “Barabajagal (Love Is Hot)”, and praised the duo’s contrasting personalities and DJ sets. Amorphous Androgynous are Manchester musicians Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans, also known as the Future Sound of London.
