Brutal Soulslike Mortal Shell 2 chooses violence, sets release date in the 2026 August traffic jam
Cold Symmetry has confirmed that its inventive Soulslike RPG Mortal Shell 2 will launch on 20th August 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The date matters because it lands the game in what may be the most crowded release period in the industry's history, as titles cluster together while steering clear of the hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6.
The standard edition is priced at £39.99 / $49.99 / €49.99, while a pricier Devout Edition (£47.99 / $59.99 / €59.99) adds cosmetics and up to three days' early access from 17th August, with pre-orders live across all platforms. Mortal Shell 2 sits amid a packed calendar, arriving a week before Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Star Wars Zero Company, and Metal Gear Solid Collection: Volume 2, and close to several other action RPGs. A generous open beta offering several hours of gameplay is currently available on Steam.
