Baffling moment Channel 5 news presenter Dani Sinha caught furiously rolling eyes after announcing Bonnie Tyler’s death
Channel 5 News presenter Dani Sinha was filmed rolling her eyes on Thursday shortly after announcing the death of singer Bonnie Tyler during a live broadcast. The moment drew attention because it followed a run of on-air stumbles, including her misnaming Tyler's signature hit, and because it appeared during coverage of a well-known artist's death, prompting speculation across social media about what had frustrated her.
Sinha, who has worked for Channel 5 for 11 years, broke the news that Tyler had died at the age of 75. She fluffed her lines while referring to the 1983 song Total Eclipse of the Heart, calling it "Total of Eclipse", after which the broadcast cut to a clip of the music video before returning to the studio, where she was seen looking frustrated and apparently unaware the camera was back on her. Tyler's family confirmed she had died "unexpectedly", and viewers online offered differing theories, some suggesting technical problems or faulty autocue and earpiece prompts, and others speculating she was reacting to her own mistake over the song title.
