Levity Live Taps Former Just For Laughs Exec Spencer Griffin As EVP Content & Creative Strategy

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Levity Live has appointed Spencer Griffin as its new Executive Vice President of Content and Creative Strategy, a newly created senior role focused on expanding the company’s comedy output across television, streaming, digital, live events and audio. The move matters because Griffin arrives with a strong track record in comedy development and franchise-building, and his hire signals Levity Live’s intention to grow beyond its club business by strengthening original content, talent partnerships and intellectual property.

Griffin spent seven years at Just for Laughs, most recently as Vice President of TV and Creative Strategy, where he worked on major comedy brands including the Just for Laughs Galas, New Faces, Roast Battle and One Night Out with Alan Cumming. He also helped launch or relaunch initiatives such as New Faces: Writers, JFL Shorts and JFL Pilots, and built partnerships with companies including Smosh, Dropout and Will Arnett’s Electric Avenue. Levity Live operates what it describes as the largest independent comedy club network in the US under the Improv brand, with venues in cities including Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Chicago, Washington, DC and Denver, alongside its talent management and digital marketing businesses.
