The John Wick universe is expanding beyond its main storyline with a Donnie Yen-led spinoff titled Caine. Yen, who played the character in the fourth instalment, is taking a multi-hyphenate role as star, director, and producer of the new feature. Filming has concluded, making a 2027 release date feasible, though studio Lionsgate has not yet publicised its theatrical window.

The franchise's core saga remains in preliminary development. Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski are working on Chapter 5, but are still determining the narrative before advancing into production. With Stahelski currently directing Henry Cavill in the Highlander reboot, attention will shift to the John Wick sequel once that project finishes.
