One example is Fox drama The Street, a Wall Street soap created by Darren Star and Jeff Rake, which mixed corporate intrigue with personal relationships and featured actors including Jennifer Connelly, Giancarlo Esposito and Bradley Cooper. The article says its casual sexism, macho culture and celebration of wealthy young financiers felt especially tone-deaf during the dot-com collapse; only seven of its 12 produced episodes were broadcast.
