2023’s Best Shooter Gets a Killer Sequel — And You Can Play Right Now
Strange Scaffold has released a free PC demo of *El Paso, Elsewhere 2* ahead of Steam Next Fest, giving players an early look at the sequel to its 2023 vampire shooter. The game is scheduled for 2027 on Windows PC and Xbox Series X, and aims to retain the original’s style while changing its combat and level design.
Set several years later, the story follows vampire hunter James Savage after a betrayal leaves him buried in a monster-filled Void. The sequel keeps its low-poly, PlayStation 2-inspired look and slow-motion gunplay, but adds larger arenas, more vertical movement, new monsters and weapons, and a healing mechanic based on turning monsters into “Capri Suns”. It is planned to have 20 levels, down from the original’s 50, with each intended to introduce a new idea.

El Paso, Elsewhere is a story-driven shooter from independent studio Strange Scaffold, first released in 2023. It follows vampire hunter James Savage through a shifting motel filled with supernatural enemies, using slow-motion gunfights and a deliberately low-poly look inspired by older PlayStation games.
The sequel continues Savage’s story after a betrayal leaves him trapped in a place called the Void. It is planned for Windows PC and Xbox Series X in 2027, and keeps the original’s visual style while changing how fights and levels work. Its development matters to fans of the first game and to players interested in how a smaller studio builds on an established series.
