23 Years Later, Rachel Bilson Is Officially Ready to Return to ‘The O.C.’

Rachel Bilson says she would be open to returning to either The O.C. or Hart of Dixie, but sees a particular appeal in revisiting the latter. She believes The O.C. could draw viewers through nostalgia for the early 2000s, while Hart of Dixie could offer a cosy escape that suits current interest in comforting television.

Bilson played Summer Roberts on The O.C., which began in 2003, and Dr Zoe Hart on Hart of Dixie, which began in 2011 and ran for four seasons. Her comments follow Ben McKenzie saying he would be willing to reprise his role in an O.C. reboot, though he said there had not been serious talks. Bilson has also previously spoken positively about the possibility of returning to Bluebell, the small Alabama town at the centre of Hart of Dixie.
