8 HBO Shows That Are Nearly Perfect, Ranked

The article ranks eight HBO dramas and comedies it considers nearly perfect, judging them by memorable scenes rather than awards. It argues that, despite flaws such as uneven seasons or debatable endings, these series show why HBO has earned its reputation for television.

The supplied text describes *The Leftovers*, *Veep*, *Succession* and *Barry*. *The Leftovers* centres on a world where 2% of the population disappears; *Veep* ran for seven seasons, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus won six consecutive Emmys for her role. *Succession* follows four siblings competing to lead their father’s media empire, while *Barry* pairs a hitman with an unexpected interest in acting. The article excerpt ends during its discussion of *Barry* and does not include the full ranking.
