A Deadlock Halloween update just arrived, and the scariest part is how much Valve has changed
Valve has released a large Halloween update for Deadlock, adding a temporary candy event alongside extensive changes to heroes, items and maps. The patch aims to rebalance team fights after the recent City Never Sleeps update, with a redesigned Midboss arena and adjustments to healing and character abilities that could reshape the game’s meta.
The Midboss is tougher and gives half its former bounty, while three Rejuvenator crystals now offer separate rewards and buffs. Map changes also adjust breakables, Haunts, comeback gold, healing snacks, movement and stamina; Halloween candy restores health and stamina and briefly boosts speed, fire rate and spirit power. The six heroes introduced in City Never Sleeps now count as established characters, making them eligible for bans and requiring 15 wins to use in ranked.
In short
- Deadlock’s Halloween patch brings sweeping balance and map changes.
- Midboss rewards are split across three Rejuvenator crystals.
- Seasonal candy grants temporary combat boosts.
