A night of brilliant batting but Livingstone’s efforts fall just short
Liam Livingstone scored a rapid 69 from 40 balls but could not quite guide London Spirit to victory against Manchester Super Giants in their opening match of The Hundred. His dismissal with three balls remaining ended Spirit’s hopes of completing the chase, despite an impressive display of batting.
Manchester Super Giants set Spirit a target of 140 after making 139, and Baker secured their win. Livingstone’s innings provided the main resistance for London Spirit, but they ultimately fell short.
