A Q&A With the Red Flags Song Contest Promotion Winner, Lucy Frost

American Songwriter ·

Lucy Frost won the Red Flags Song Contest promotion with “Video Games”, a song that satirises dating in your early twenties. She says it captures the gap between seeming like an adult and still wanting to spend the day playing games, and jokes about men who appear mature but behave like they are still at college.

Frost has played music since she was eight, studied film scoring and composition at Berklee College of Music, and later wrote songs for other artists and sync companies in Los Angeles. She says storytelling is her favourite part of making music and that the win has boosted her confidence. Her debut album, *Vitamins*, came out in August; she is working on new songs and hopes to play live shows.

In short

  • Lucy Frost won with her song “Video Games”.
