Adam Driver Says No More Kylo Ren: Star Wars “Ship Has Sailed”

Adam Driver says he does not expect to play Kylo Ren again, saying the “ship has sailed” after plans for a standalone film were rejected. The project would have explored the character’s return as Ben Solo, despite his death in the 2019 film The Rise of Skywalker.

Driver said he and director Steven Soderbergh worked on a script with writers Scott Burns and Rebecca Blunt, under the working title The Hunt for Ben Solo. He said the script was well received by the team, but the project stalled because decision-makers did not see how Ben could be alive; Driver added that any return was not his decision.
