After a 16-year long dev period, Faraway, a shooting star arcade game about siphoning the energy of other stars, is out now
Faraway, a single-player arcade game created by Steph Thirion, has been released on Steam after 16 years in development. Players control a shooting star that connects to other stars to harvest their energy, extending its life and building a score.
The game’s procedurally generated runs are designed to offer a fresh experience each time. Its creator is also known for Eliss, a cult-classic mobile game; Faraway’s arcade-style design recalls an earlier era of independent games and offers a pick-up-and-play alternative to longer roguelike experiences.
