After this week’s Elder Scrolls 6 tease, fans think they’ve figured out its full name – and it was hidden in Starfield all along

Eurogamer · 2 hours ago

Fans believe The Elder Scrolls 6 may be titled The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel after Xbox CEO Asha Sharma referred to an eight-character subtitle during a recent playthrough. The theory matters because Sentinel, a city in Hammerfell, would support long-running speculation that the sequel is set in that region, although Bethesda has not confirmed the title or setting.

Players have linked the theory to a 16-digit employee number in Starfield’s character creator which, when split into pairs and converted into letters, spells “Sentinel”; the clue was first noticed several years ago. Former Bethesda developer Michael Kirkbride has backed the theory, but the game remains without a release date: Todd Howard said in 2025 it was still a long way off, while recent Xbox layoffs reportedly affected development.

  • Fans think the subtitle is Sentinel.
  • Starfield may contain a hidden title clue.
  • Bethesda has not announced a release date.
