Agriculture groups are urging the Senate to approve the House Republican budget resolution, backing a White House push to begin another reconciliation package. Supporters say it would provide needed assistance to struggling farmers and could pass without Democratic votes, while the proposal’s wider political content and cost have prompted resistance in the Senate.

The $95 billion framework includes $12 billion for agriculture and farm aid, alongside funding for defence, intelligence and election-related measures. The House approved it by 216–214, but Senate Republican leaders have questioned whether there is sufficient support or time to advance it before the August recess.
