ALDS postponement leaves Guardians ticket holders upset with altered game assignments

Rain delayed the start of Cleveland’s American League Division Series Game 4 before it was postponed, leaving fans who had travelled to the ballpark facing extra costs and disrupted plans. The Guardians’ ticket reassignment also upset some supporters because it changed which game they would attend and could affect their chance to see a series-clinching win.

Tickets for the postponed Game 4 were reassigned to Saturday, while Game 5 tickets remained valid for Sunday. Cleveland led Tampa Bay 2-1, so fans originally booked for Game 5 had hoped to see a possible pennant-clinching game, but would instead attend Game 4. Some fans criticised the change as unfair because the games did not have equal significance; a Guardians win on Saturday could, however, make the reassigned Game 4 tickets especially valuable.
