Destructoid has published a guide detailing all the tools available in Scrap Mechanic 1.0, the newly released version of Axolot Games' survival crafting title, explaining what each one does and how players can obtain it. With more tools added than in previous versions, the guide is aimed at helping players prioritise which ones to craft first, since some are essential for progressing towards the game's endgame content.

The game features 11 tools in total, some of which—such as the Handbook, Lift and Sledgehammer—are available by default, while others must be crafted using specific recipes involving materials like Metal Blocks, Component Kits, Circuit Boards and Cable Rolls. These range from utility items, such as the Connect Tool and Weld Tool used for joining creations, to weapons like the Fire Launcher and various potato-firing guns (Spud Gun, Spud Shotgun and Spudling Gun). The guide advises players to prioritise crafting the tools they will use most for building, since the more advanced weapons require significantly more resources to unlock.
