Amazon is developing smart glasses for delivery drivers that could take thousands of photos during a typical shift and upload them to its AI Wellspring platform. The company says the images are intended to improve deliveries, but the near-constant capture of people and private property raises privacy concerns, particularly as customers reportedly will have no way to opt out or request deletion.

Amazon says its systems will blur people and number plates before images are reviewed by staff, and it confirmed that images could be obtained with a warrant. It has not said how long the images will be stored, and customers reportedly cannot view them. The photos are expected to be similar in quality to package-delivery proof photos; Amazon plans to deploy 20,000 more pairs by the end of 2027, while pilot users have already made more than 275,000 deliveries.
