AMC Theatres Sets All-Time Record for Quarterly Revenue, Thanks to ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ and ‘The Odyssey’
AMC Theatres reported its highest quarterly revenue on record for the three months to 30 September, as strong ticket sales for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and “The Odyssey” helped drive a box office recovery. The cinema chain also returned to profit, marking a sharp change from the losses it reported a year earlier.
Revenue reached $1.71 billion, up 31.6% year on year and above the previous quarterly record set earlier in 2026. AMC recorded net income of $109.3 million, compared with a $298.2 million loss a year earlier; ticket revenue rose 33% to $954.5 million, while food and drink sales increased 30% to $589.5 million. Chief executive Adam Aron also cited premium large-format screens and the A-List subscription service, and said upcoming releases could help make this the strongest box office year since the pandemic.
In short
- AMC posted record quarterly revenue of $1.71 billion.
- The cinema chain returned to profit.
- Ticket and food sales both rose by about a third.
