Anbernic manufactures portable gaming devices that play older video games on modern hardware. The company has unveiled the RG DDS, a clamshell-style handheld with two screens that open and close like a book.

Nintendo's 3DS was a handheld console from 2011 that featured games with dual screens. The RG DDS is designed to play 3DS games, so Anbernic has optimised its screen sizes and shapes to match the original console's proportions.

The device uses a newer processor that could support a wider range of games from older systems. The company has not yet announced pricing or a release date, though its previous handheld cost $99, whilst comparable devices from competitors start at around $149.
