Anbernic’s RG DDS is almost double the price of the original Nintendo 3DS

Engadget ·

Anbernic has priced its RG DDS dual-screen handheld at $299.99, nearly twice the original Nintendo 3DS’s launch price, positioning it as a premium device rather than one of the company’s usual budget handhelds. It is designed as a modern callback to the 3DS, with stronger hardware and support for emulating a wider range of games.

The RG DDS uses a Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 processor and Android 16, with configurations offering 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage or 12GB and 256GB. Both versions support microSD cards up to 2TB, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 and 1080p display output; the device lacks the original 3DS’s glasses-free 3D. Anbernic says shipping will begin gradually from 10 December 2026, and the handheld will come in three colours.

  • Anbernic’s RG DDS costs $299.99.
