Anthony Fauci's legal team has hit back at NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers after he criticised the former US health official on ESPN's Pat McAfee Show. The exchange came days after Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination 111 times during a Senate hearing, refusing to answer questions linked to his personal diary and the government's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rodgers, known for his sceptical stance on Covid-19 policies, used his regular slot on the popular sports programme to criticise Fauci over the repeated use of the Fifth Amendment. In response, Fauci's attorney dismissed the criticism, telling the Green Bay Packers quarterback he "should stick to football" rather than commenting on the legal and public health matter.
