Dixxon Flannel Co. has teamed up with thrash metal veterans Anthrax to release a limited-edition flannel shirt marking the 36th anniversary of the band's 1990 album "Persistence Of Time". The collaboration is the latest example of a heritage rock or metal act lending its imagery to apparel, tapping into Anthrax's status as one of the "Big Four" thrash bands and its enduring fanbase.

The bamboo-fabric flannel reworks the album's earthy artwork into the plaid pattern, with Anthrax's black logo featured on the pocket and buttons. It goes on sale in a one-off, highly limited run on Thursday, 20 August at 5pm, priced at $59.99 for men's and women's sizes and $29.99 for youth sizes, and is expected to sell out quickly. Drummer Charlie Benante has previously described "Persistence Of Time" as a favourite record to make, noting its darker tone reflected a fire that destroyed over $100,000 of the band's gear and a desire to move away from the brighter "surfer" image of its predecessor, "State Of Euphoria".
