Antonio Banderas To Star In Latest Feature From Mariano Cohn & Gastón Duprat

Antonio Banderas will play Captain Álvaro Salcedo in *Mare Nostrum*, a new feature by Argentinian directors Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat. The story centres on a rescue at sea that develops into an international political crisis, exploring migration, borders and human nature.

The captain is transporting a billion-euro cargo from Istanbul to Cape Town when he finds a small boat of African migrants in danger during a storm. After taking them aboard, he cannot find a European country willing to let them disembark. Filming is due to begin in Spain early next year, and HanWay Films will launch international sales at the AFM.
