Apple also made its classical music app’s logo black and white
Apple has changed the Apple Music Classical app’s logo from red and white to black and white, following a similar redesign of its main Music app. The update gives the Classical logo a translucent quality that the main app’s new design lacks, and has so far drawn less visible criticism.
Apple changed the main Music logo last month as part of what it described as a new identity for the service. Music Classical is included with an Apple Music subscription at no extra cost; its catalogue is also available in the main app, but Classical offers tools to discover music and find particular performances. In the US, subscriptions cost $12 a month for an individual plan or $20 for a family plan covering up to six people.
In short
- Apple Music Classical’s logo is now black and white.
- The redesign retains a translucent quality.
- The app is included with Apple Music subscriptions.
Explained simply
Apple Music Classical is a separate app for exploring classical music, included with an Apple Music subscription. Its catalogue is also available in Apple’s main Music app, but Classical has tools for searching composers, works and particular performances.
Apple’s main Music app and Classical app are part of the same subscription service, though they have different designs and features. The apps’ logos help distinguish them, while the subscription gives listeners access to both at no extra cost.
