Apple will reportedly unveil a new smart home hub, dubbed HomePad, on 13 October alongside refreshed HomePod mini and Apple TV models. All three devices will showcase Apple's overhauled Siri AI assistant, with the smart home hub serving as the centrepiece of this announcement. This marks Apple's entry into the smart home hub category, representing a significant expansion of its ecosystem into home automation and control.

The HomePad features a 6-inch touchscreen display that can be wall-mounted or positioned on a countertop, with a design inspired by the iMac G4—featuring a round metal base and adjustable metal arm supporting the screen. The device measures approximately as thick as an iPhone, includes speakers and microphones within its base, and will be available in Apple's standard grey aluminium finish. It connects via USB-C and operates without a battery; a separate wall-mounted version with a thinner base will also be offered. The hub supports smart device control, video calling, music playback, photo slideshows, intercom functionality, and uses voice and facial recognition to identify users, whilst running iPad-like applications within its Siri-focused operating system.
