Ark Survival Ascended’s most intimidating apex dinosaur is about to reclaim its crown

Studio Wildcard will release a major Giganotosaurus update for Ark: Survival Ascended on 5 November 2026, giving the intimidating apex predator a new look and renewed ferocity. The update is also scheduled to bring the game’s long-delayed move to Unreal Engine 5.8, marking a significant technical change alongside the dinosaur refresh.

The Giganotosaurus TLC is the third of five community-voted updates, following new attention for the Araneo and Therizinosaurus. Wildcard says the engine update has reached 99.9% mod compatibility. On 6 November, the Enigmasaur will arrive to conclude Fantastic Tames Season 1; the shapeshifter’s DLC bundle, including the Burrowbuck and Cerberax, is on sale for $7.99 or £5.99 until 8 November.
