Avenged Sevenfold Release New EP ‘STATICA’, Debut Songs Live As Support For Themselves
Avenged Sevenfold have surprise-released a new EP, 'STATICA', a four-track collection that pushes further into the experimental territory the band have explored since 2016's 'The Stage' and 2023's 'Life Is But a Dream…'. The release, described as glitchy, lo-fi and dreamlike in tone, marks a deliberate departure from expectations and comes as the band embark on a co-headline US tour with Good Charlotte, adding an extra layer of intrigue given the unconventional way it has been introduced live.
The band debuted 'STATICA' in concert at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri, on 25 July, with the set scheduled just before Good Charlotte's performance. Rather than appearing on stage, Avenged Sevenfold reportedly performed from backstage, with the set broadcast to the audience via the venue's big screens. The co-headline run with Good Charlotte continues through late August, taking in dates across North America including Toronto, Montreal, Dallas and Phoenix, with further appearances of the EP live expected as the tour progresses.
