Disney has put tickets for Avengers: Doomsday on sale across all US cinemas three months before release, expanding from last month’s premium-format presales. The move signals strong confidence in the Marvel blockbuster, which will reunite major characters against Doctor Doom and compete directly with Dune Part Three when it opens on 18 December.

The listed running time is 165 minutes, or two hours and 45 minutes, though it may still change slightly before the final cut. Robert Downey Jr. plays Doctor Doom, alongside returning and new Marvel actors including Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Pedro Pascal and Florence Pugh; Anthony and Joe Russo direct. Disney will also re-release Avengers: Endgame on 25 September, after its $2.8 billion worldwide box-office run.
