A new fan-made mod, Act Two Expansion, adds the Chionthar Wilds to Baldur’s Gate 3, creating an explorable region between the Shadow-Cursed Lands and Baldur’s Gate. It aims to address Act 2’s relatively linear structure by giving players a more open route and additional story content before reaching Act 3.

The nearly two-year solo project includes new quests, dungeons, NPCs, cutscenes, creatures, more than 70 items and over 30 combat encounters for level-eight-to-ten parties. It can be installed through Nexus Mods, offers quick-start options, and is currently in beta; its content remains largely self-contained and does not significantly affect Act 3.
