Banijay & All3Media Complete Merger, Creating $8BN Production-Distribution Giant

Deadline · 1 month ago

Banijay Entertainment and All3Media have completed their merger, forming a London-based production and distribution company worth around $8 billion (£6bn) that makes and sells shows including The Traitors, Big Brother, MasterChef and Peaky Blinders. The combined group, which retains the name Banijay Entertainment, becomes what its leadership describes as the world's largest independent media content company by catalogue and production output. Coming shortly after the Sky-ITV deal, the merger significantly reshapes both the UK and international television markets.

The deal, first announced in March, brings together Banijay Group and RedBird IMI — a joint venture between RedBird Capital Partners and the Abu Dhabi-based IMI media group. The partners said the combined entity would have generated pro forma revenues of €7.4bn ($8.5bn) based on 2024 figures, with expected cost savings of €50m ($57m). The enlarged business spans almost 200 production companies (roughly 130 from Banijay and 40 from All3Media) and a catalogue exceeding 265,000 hours. Marco Bassetti becomes CEO of the new group, former All3Media chief Jane Turton becomes Deputy CEO, and RedBird IMI's Jeff Zucker takes the role of Chairman.
