Belozoglu named Fenerbahce head coach

Fenerbahce have appointed Emre Belozoglu as head coach, bringing the former midfielder back to the Turkish club after his brief interim spell in 2021. The appointment comes as Fenerbahce prepare to face Liverpool in the Champions League and seek to improve their position in the Super Lig.

Belozoglu, 46, joins from Kasimpasa and replaces Ismail Kartal, following Dirk Kuyt’s brief interim spell. Fenerbahce are sixth in the league with 16 points from 10 matches; Belozoglu previously played for Inter Milan and Newcastle United before retiring in 2020.
