Bernie Taupin admits Robert Plant didn’t recognise him at recent Nashville festival: ‘I love my anonymity’
Bernie Taupin says Robert Plant did not recognise him when they met at a recent Nashville music festival, despite Plant having asked to meet. Taupin, best known for writing lyrics with Elton John, says he is often not recognised and values being able to live outside the public spotlight.
Taupin said he approached Plant at Americanafest, identified himself, and they had dinner together the following night. Plant was receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the festival’s main ceremony at the Ryman Auditorium on 16 September. Taupin has also said he and John will not sell their publishing rights, preferring to leave them to their children.
