Rapper BigXthaPlug, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested in Texas on Friday on drug and weapons charges after being stopped by police. The arrest caused him to miss a planned appearance at Winnipeg’s Country Rising Festival, while his scheduled Iowa State Fair performance was still expected to go ahead.

Police booked Landum into Collin County Jail on allegations of driving while intoxicated, possessing less than two ounces of marijuana and unlawfully possessing a firearm. The arrest came exactly a year after he was arrested in Dallas on marijuana and firearm charges; he was reportedly on bail in that case. BigXthaPlug has recently gained wider attention for his country-rap album I Hope You’re Happy.
