Rapper BigXthaPlug, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested in Texas on 21 August on alleged drug, firearm and drink-driving offences. The arrest matters because it came while he was reportedly on bail from similar charges filed a year earlier, and it disrupted a scheduled festival appearance in Canada.

Police in Allen, Texas, booked the 28-year-old into Collin County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated, possessing under two ounces of marijuana and unlawfully possessing a firearm, according to KDFW. He cancelled his Country Rising Festival appearance in Winnipeg but was still expected to perform at the Iowa State Fair; he had also been arrested in Arlington in February 2025 on a marijuana-possession charge.
