Binance CFO Kaiser Ng steps down, Justin Yek named new finance chief
Binance finance chief Kaiser Ng is leaving after more than five years to pursue another venture, and Justin Yek has been appointed as his successor. The change comes shortly after a major cyber theft, though Binance said Ng’s transition had been planned over the past six months.
The exchange said hackers stole $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency in an attack that unfolded on October 29, after malware and fake recruitment efforts targeted employees and engineers. Binance said it would fully reimburse affected customers; the FBI attributed the theft to a North Korean hacking group, which Pyongyang denies. Yek was most recently vice-president of finance at Airwallex, while Ng had served as Binance CFO since January 2022.
In short
