BioWare’s Final Years Were Filmed and Will Be Revealed in a New Documentary
A documentary called *Massive Effect: The BioWare Story* will look back at the studio’s final years, offering a rare view of its work and people as it approached closure. It matters to fans and the games industry because BioWare, known for story-driven games including *Mass Effect*, was shut down last month.
The film is due in 2027 and is being produced for Canada’s Super Channel by Shane Fennessey and Adam Scorgie. It will include interviews with figures such as former *Mass Effect* game director Casey Hudson, voice actor Jennifer Hale, and industry veteran Geoff Keighley; it is not clear whether it will be available online outside Canada or include footage of the cancelled game. BioWare’s founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk said they were honoured that the film would recognise the developers, partners and fans behind the studio’s legacy.
In short
- A documentary will tell BioWare’s story, including its final years.
- The film is planned for release in 2027.
- Its online availability outside Canada remains unclear.
