Birdbuddy’s Nook is a compact smart bird feeder for small spaces and budgets

The Verge ·

Birdbuddy has begun selling its renamed smart bird feeders, the compact Nook and the larger Home, which were first announced at CES 2026. The Nook is designed as a lower-cost option for small spaces, while the Home adds capacity and features intended to reduce upkeep.

Both use a 2K HDR camera with a 135-degree field of view that activates when a bird lands, and Birdbuddy’s app uses AI to identify visiting species. The Nook starts at $99, with solar and extended-perch versions costing $159 and $199; its seed reservoir holds 3.8 cups. The $219 Home holds six cups, includes two roof-mounted solar panels and a perch extender, and has dual-band Wi-Fi and an upgraded microphone for identifying birdsong.

  • Birdbuddy’s compact Nook starts at $99.
