BLACKIE LAWLESS Asks W.A.S.P. Fans To ‘Support’ And ‘Honor’ CHRIS HOLMES In Guitarist’s Battle With Prostate Cancer

Blabbermouth · 2 hours ago

W.A.S.P. frontman Blackie Lawless has publicly called on the band's fans to rally behind former guitarist Chris Holmes, who is undergoing chemotherapy in France for prostate cancer. Lawless described the "W.A.S.P. family" as "devastated" and urged supporters to offer financial help or words of encouragement, marking a notable reconciliation gesture given past tensions between the two musicians over Holmes's earlier cancer battle.

Holmes, 68, faces significant medical debt after an administrative error tied to his marriage registration left him with only "emergency only" health insurance coverage in France, according to his wife Catherine. She said the couple has amassed around €20,000 in bills, with further costs expected as treatment continues, and has launched a GoFundMe with a €50,000 target, of which nearly €20,000 has been raised so far. Holmes, who cannot travel while receiving radiotherapy, previously overcame throat and neck cancer in 2022 and cancelled a planned UK and Scandinavian tour this past May due to prostate health issues.
