Blood of Dawnwalker’s first patch offers relief from buggy tutorials and tight-lipped NPCs, but Rebel Wolves are still working on fixes for the stuttering and shader crash problems

Rock Paper Shotgun · 2 hours ago

The Blood of Dawnwalker, Rebel Wolves' Witcher-inspired vampire RPG, has received its first post-launch patch on PC, addressing several quest-blocking bugs and controller issues. The update matters for players currently working through the game, as it clears progression roadblocks and smooths out early-game annoyances, though more serious technical problems flagged only the previous day remain unresolved.

The patch fixes a tutorial bug that saw companion character Lunka getting stuck while guiding players through the opening sections, and resolves an issue where the jester NPC Farkas would refuse to talk if surrounding characters had been killed, previously blocking a major quest. It also adds a new recipe for a blacksmith character and tweaks controller dead zone and sprint input handling. Rebel Wolves say fixes for ongoing stuttering, PlayStation button-mapping and shader compilation crashes are still in progress, and separately, some players have begun modding the game's main quest timer to reduce time pressure.
