Bluesky tests in-app hub for reports, account actions and appeals

Engadget ·

Bluesky is introducing a beta moderation inbox in its app, giving users one place to track reports they submit, actions taken against their accounts, labels on posts and their standing on the platform. The feature is intended to improve communication about moderation and make decisions easier to follow and appeal.

Users can enable beta features in Settings and find the inbox under Moderation tools. It will start empty, including for users who already have a strike; most decisions can be appealed in the app, while suspensions must be addressed at the login screen. Bluesky says email has been an unreliable way to reach people on independent servers, and the change follows criticism of its moderation practices. The update also adds an optional home-screen widget for trending topics.
