Breville has launched the Spiral Luxe Auto Pour Over, a £600 premium kitchen appliance that automates the traditionally manual process of making pour-over coffee. By combining a built-in grinder with an automated brewing system, the machine aims to make specialty pour-over coffee accessible for daily use, similar to how Breville's previous products simplified toasting and carbonating beverages.

The machine features a bespoke 40mm flat burr grinder, a conical dripper, and an articulating water spout that mimics a barista's spiral pouring pattern. It includes precise temperature control that heats water in seconds and maintains consistent brewing temperature throughout, along with customisable settings for grind size, brew ratio, water temperature and pour intervals via an on-board display. Additional features include the ability to save custom recipes and a delayed auto-start function for scheduling coffee to be ready at a specific time. Whilst the device offers genuine convenience for coffee enthusiasts, cheaper automatic pour-over alternatives are available for those unwilling to invest in the premium price tag.
