Brilliant Brook leads Sunrisers to record Hundred score

BBC Sport · 2 hours ago

Sunrisers Leeds posted the highest total in Hundred history, reaching 241-2 against London Spirit at Headingley, with England limited-overs captain Harry Brook smashing a sensational 15-ball fifty to spearhead the innings. The record-breaking score helped Sunrisers to a 37-run victory, lifting them to fourth in the table and keeping their play-off hopes alive, while Spirit's defeat leaves them struggling in seventh.

Openers Mitchell Marsh (76 off 37) and Ryan Rickelton (94 not out off 42) put on 148 for the first wicket, the highest opening stand in Hundred history, before Brook's blistering cameo took the total past the previous record of 226. Sunrisers hit 21 sixes in their innings, smashing the previous record of 17, while the match's 31 sixes and 445 aggregate runs were both all-time Hundred highs. In reply, Spirit slumped to 44-4 before David Willey's unbeaten 83 off 46 balls limited the damage, but they still fell well short on 204-6.
