Fabraz and Atari have released a free ‘Black Hole’ update for Bubsy 4D, expanding the platform game with new challenges, cosmetics and competitive features. The update also includes technical fixes intended to improve gameplay, adding value for existing players without requiring an additional purchase.

The new campaign contains 15 levels across the game’s planets, alongside hazards, enemies, time medals, leaderboards and four achievements or trophies. Players can unlock five new outfits by collecting void fleece, while a reward has been added for completing the game fully; the patch also addresses camera collision, physics, cannon consistency, a boss-related softlock and several interface issues. Nintendo Life previously rated Bubsy 4D 7/10, describing it as a fun but somewhat underdeveloped budget platformer.
