Variety · 3 hours ago

Busan’s Asian Contents & Film Market has chosen Japan as the 2026 Focus Country for its Producer Hub, a networking programme linked to the Busan International Film Festival. The selection will bring 10 Japanese producers to Busan in October to pitch projects and seek international partners, reflecting Japan’s growing role in Asian film and television co-productions.

Producer Hub will run from 10 to 13 October, a day longer than in 2025, with speed meetings, case studies and follow-up discussions designed to turn initial contacts into potential collaborations. Launched in 2024, the scheme has expanded from eight partner organisations in seven countries to 13 organisations in 10 countries; its 2025 Canada-focused edition attracted 154 producers from 25 countries.

  • Japan is Busan Producer Hub’s 2026 Focus Country.
  • Ten Japanese producers will pitch projects in October.
